Lauren + Mike’s elopement was a true fairytale, and for way more reasons besides it being on a moody, hazy day in the mountains!
As many couples in 2020, L + M decided their original wedding plan wasn’t an option anymore. They changed their plans and chose to elope in Breckenridge, Colorado! To say we were excited to be a part of this day would be a severe understatement.
When we arrived to their Airbnb in Breckenridge, we immediately felt like part of the family. We were lovingly welcomed by everyone, caught up with both Lauren & Mike and gushed about how amazing the day would be (despite the lingering rain). Everyone had consistent, huge smiles on their face and we could see excitement. One of our favorite moments before the ceremony (besides the cutest first look with Lauren + her dad) was when Lauren + Mike stood back to back, holding hands and read letters they wrote to each other. Although they were planning on seeing each other for the first time down the aisle, they found a way to connect before that moment too.
The weather for the ceremony was quickly forgotten when Lauren walked down the aisle with her dad. All eyes were on the two of them and it was so intimately special. We explored around a trailhead near the Airbnb for portraits and were quickly reminded how much fun these two were to work with. Not only are they both incredibly goofy and fun but the love they have for each other is so apparent. Seriously, they could not take their eyes off each other!
Back at the Airbnb was the reception with lots of yummy appetizers, drinks, music and emotional words said by family members. One thing that still sticks out to us from this day is something that Lauren’s father, Michael said. Right after L + M’s first dance, he got up for his dance with Lauren and said “After seeing you two together, I truly don’t know who is luckier – Lauren or Mike.” That itself really sums up the love this family all has for each other. Bringing two families together can be tough sometimes but it felt like one big family and we were SO happy to be a part of it for the day.
Lauren + Mike, congratulations – we are so so so happy for you!
